Lots of good movies coming out soon though, and after looking through dozens of movies coming out in the next several months I picked the five that I am most hoping to see on the silver screen! All the trailers come courtesy of Trailer Addict. These are in order of the stated release dates...
So first up, The Hunger Games! I read all the books, and the trailers look good. Naturally not everything is going to be the same, but so far it looks like they've done a really good job with it! Watch the trailer below, and if you still haven't read the books...better get started because this one is in theaters March 23rd!
Next in line coming out is Safe! I've been a fan of Jason Stratham since the Transporter, although I thought The Bank Job wasn't one of his better movies. This one looks action packed, testosterone filled, and classic Stratham kicking some ass! Its got a story line about some asian girl that can memorize big numbers, and some guys are after her...but lets face it, we're not watching this for the story. People get beat up, things go boom.
Naturally this wouldn't be a legend...wait for it....ary line up without The Avengers. In theaters May 4th it puts them as third in our line up of blockbuster films coming out over the next couple of months. If you've been living under a rock, and don't know about the Avengers...well, I guess its time you found out. Based on the comic books, and something the studios have been working up to for quite awhile now. Several superheroes are called together to save the world, and together they form The Avengers. This movies features a few people from previous films, like Robert Downey Jr., back again as Tony Stark AKA Ironman! Also returning is Thor, and Captain America. Once again, another actor is playing the Hulk, but I do like Mark Ruffalo. IMDB also lists Lou Ferrigno (the original Hulk) as the voice of the Hulk, I'm interested to see how that works out.
G.I. Joe: Retaliation is currently slated for June 29th. I was never a huge G.I. Joe fan as a kid, and thought the first movie wasn't horrible...not great either, but not horrible. This movie looks like it might at least be fun. It has ninja's, Bruce Willis, and the Rock...that has to be entertaining, right? :D
The Amazing Spider-Man is set to hit theaters on July 3rd. This one I'm still a bit iffy on, sometimes they do a good job with the whole "reboot" thing, and sometimes its just crap. It looks like it has potential, but there are some changes to the story. Personally, I don't think its been long enough, Spiderman is Tobey Maquire...and I think its going to take some real work to take his image out of our minds. So are they just trying to cash in on what Raimi already did...or are they actually breaking ground? There's no Mary Jane in this movie, and that feels odd...but even with all that, I'm still planning to give it a shot.
So that concludes are list. What are you looking forward to seeing over the next few months? Who's got the best trailer? Let me know in the comments below!
Come on, no Dark Knight Returns! Otherwise an awesome list! I was so relieved when I saw the latest Avengers trailer, for months I was afraid that movie would turn out like crap. Now I have high hopes for it.
ReplyDeleteThe Dark Knight Rises actually! Sorry, it isn't a summer blockbuster list, mostly just the next five movies I really want to see. The new batman movie is being realeased July 20th...so that would have made it 6th on the list (in order of release dates).
