Big Movies Still Coming This Year!

2012 is almost over, but we still have a few HUGE blockbuster movies coming out this year. There's a good looking romantic comedy that promises to be fun, and you might even need a kleenex. Monster's Inc. is being released in theaters again, but this time in 3D. Unless you've been living under a rock, you're sure to know that the Hobbit comes out this month, and that's going to be huge! And finally our big Christmas day release this year... Les Miserables.

Trailers and summaries after the jump!

If you're looking for a romantic comedy to see (and who doesn't like a good romantic comedy), then Playing For Keeps is the movie to see. It hits theaters December 7th, and stars Gerard Butler, Jessica Biel, and Dennis Quaid. George (Butler) plays a a former professional athlete who's fallen on hard times, and decides to start coaching his son's soccer team to try and redeem himself for not being a better father and husband in the past. Conflicts ensue when he is pursued by many of the soccer moms, and offered his dream job that would take him away from his son. I'll be checking this one out!

December 14th is when The Hobbit will finally hit theaters. I don't know anyone (well, maybe one or two people) that isn't looking forward to this movie. If you're not sure what this movie is really all about, I suggest you read the book(s). This will be the first installment in what Peter Jackson has turned one relatively small novel into three movies. While it will be incredibly annoying to have to wait for the following years to see the rest of the movie(s), maybe they can manage to do it justice. If the trailer is anything to go by, then I think they did a pretty good job.

Nothing new with Monsters Inc, except that they're releasing it in 3D. Generally I'm not impressed when the take a movie that wasn't made for 3D, and then augment it to now be in the 3D. Pixar is a pretty good company though, and Toy Story in 3D while not overly impressive didn't completely suck. Anyway, if 3D is your thing, or you have just really been wishing to see Monster's Inc. on the big screen, it comes out December 19th.

Our last big movie of the year is of course the Christmas release movie. I won't get into whether or not people should be going to the movies on Christmas Day (You shouldn't, I've had to work in a movie theater on Christmas when I'd rather be home with family.), but the powers that be seem to think its a good day to release a film. I'm extremely excited to see this one. Amazing cast, of course its a great soundtrack, but the everyone in the trailer just blows me away. Anne Hathaway, Hugh Jackman, Russel Crowe, Amanda Seyfriend, Helena Bonham Carter, could there be a bigger cast? If you haven't seen the trailer yet, check it out!

So with only a few weeks left in the year, there is still plenty of movie watching yet to be done. Maybe schedule some time to take a break and catch a film while you are doing your holiday shopping. Thanks for reading, and watching. Please leave any comments you have, and don't forget to join/follow us in whatever manner you prefer!

Merry Christmas!
