Summertime!

We're starting to see regular 80 degree weather now, and that means we're finally on our way to summertime! Summer is really the ultimate low stress month. Although many of us (me included) still put in lots of hours, there's so much to do outdoors, that its hard to stay inside.

This image here I took of our wonderful main street. The city really goes all out to hang up and put out lots of amazing flowers. Where I live there is so much to do, it often feels like summer isn't nearly long enough (and it really isn't) to get them all done.

Camping, hiking, fishing, backpacking, river rafting, off-roading, mountain biking jet skis...and that's really just the tip of the iceberg...and only in the "adventure" type areas. There's sitting out by the river with a good book. Just hanging out and enjoying the sun, or even actually tanning. Lounging around a body of water (lake, pool, hot tub) with friends.

Summer is of course a great time for bbq's! As the summer progresses I'll be posting some of my favorite things to grill, and the recipes that go along with them. Campfires are great for smore's and all kinds of other wonderful foods as well...dutch oven cooking anyone?

Many events are happening in the summer. Concerts in the park, parades, fireworks, tours. Part of my summer always includes a trip to the county fair! My list of things to do for this summer includes visiting the Mountain Man Rendevous! Many people plan their vacations now too!

Also have to love those long warm summer nights, lying under the stars and wishing on the falling ones.

Whatever you're doing this summer, try not to get caught up in the everyday hustle and bustle of getting the kids to their various events, and getting all that cleaning done you were putting off all winter. Take some time for you and those close to you. Spend some time out doors, getting close to nature, and letting it all just slip away.

Got any great plans this summer? Anything special you like to do? Leave a comment!
