Changes.

As you can see, there's a new bar just under the beach header...and it has a few words across it. Most of the links won't work right now, but I thought people might like to see part of my dream for this place. I'm planning/hoping to grow...and encompass all things that might be thought of, or used to escape the every day grind.


I'm not planning to do it all myself...I don't actually know everything, try as I might. So I'm hoping as we progress to find people who are interested in contributing. You don't have to be an expert, just have an interest. Looking at taking up hang gliding, and want to write about? Awesome! Have a passion for your favorite football team, you enjoy microbrewing, camping, reading, writing, cooking... the possibilities are nearly endless. About the only thing you can't write about...work.Work is a four letter word around here. We know all about the daily grind, we're trying to leave that behind. Please don't send me an article about being a teller at a bank, or how much you hate your construction job... we're not about that. You'll have to find somewhere else.

So keep checking on the navbar up there, as we grow, links will happen. I'll try and point out when we have new stuff to link to, and I'll definitely point out new contributors to the blog. Anything you submit that gets posted will give you a by-line, and a link to you, if you have another site. Kick me over an email, or leave a comment if you'd like to contribute. I'm not looking for professional writers, I won't turn you away if you are one, but there won't be a check in the mail (at least not at this point in the game). So don't worry if you've never written anything before, or if you feel like you're writing won't be good enough.

There's also a link all the way to the right.  This is going to be my area to just rant occasionally. When there's something stupid in the news or I just get really annoyed about something in general. For example, I get tired of people blaming the president for high gas prices, as if he's actually physically out there changing the signs. Or maybe because he actually has a vested interest in the price *cough Bush/Cheney cough Halliburton cough*...because we all know the oil companies aren't in it for the money (record profits). But I digress, what I wanted was to create a separate site for this, but so far any name I can come up with that I like, is taken...and mostly by squatters (That's a rant all by itself!)! So I've just added it to this site...and maybe I'll get the domain name in the future.

Sorry all, I totally forgot to give out some credit here.  Most of the code and direction I got from a blog I found (and a new favorite read). If you want to make your own navbar similar to mine, you'll want to check out her post, and the rest of her blog! There's mostly just one major change to get it to work right with the new blogger templates. If you need help give me a holler, but you'll find most everything you need over at:
